John Finucane (SCEJALT): Communication: What makes activities communicative?

Abstract: This workshop explores what it means to say that an activity is communicative. It also presents a simple rubric for judging if an activity is communicative or not.

The JET Programme (JET) is a large-scale exchange programme administered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIR), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) in Japan.  The JET Programme aims to promote internationalisation in Japan’s local communities by improving foreign language education and developing international exchange at the community level.
